QUEENSTOWN

There's a flurry of adrenalin in Queenstown with the local club involved in a swag of exciting projects. With DOC's blessing, they are to construct and maintain XC tracks around the 7 Mile Lakeside Reserve. The recently completed Cool Runnings incorporates a number of intermediate technical features… berms, jumps and a 25m log ride. There's a whole bunch of stuff going down in the Wynyard Freestyle Park too, and Coronet Peak is rumoured to be offering to lighten your wallet with lift serviced XC and DH trails for next summer.

The Club has done a deal with the Council to let them build an XC loop at Jardine Park on the Kelvin Peninsula… 20Ha of rolling terrain – a notch less committing than the standard near vertical fodder in the area. The Ground Effect Slush Fund is assisting with the project. More at www.qmtbc.co.nz
