DUNEDIN

Dunedin has a couple of exciting projectson the boil. The Nicholl's Creek track will link Leith Valley with Swampy Summit. The completed track will be nearly 10km long, mostly through native bush. Ground Effect is stumping up with $2500 for retaining materials to get the ball rolling. Lusty volunteers are now required to acquaint themselves with the business end of a mattock. Email Hamish Seaton to put your hand up. The other southern gem is the Whare Flat revival project - re-kindling some old tracks, including the forgotten Jeremy's Trail, after recent logging activity. The first 750m of track is complete. Next in line is a skills area with ladders, seesaws and elevated boardwalks - a Ground Effect Slush Fund first.
